Can I save the weather of a day?

Yes. Open the Memory, tap +, and choose Weather. You give it a city and an hour, and Lumoria saves the real reading from that place and time as a card. It never changes afterwards.

Add one, step by step

1. Open the Memory and tap +.
2. Choose Weather.
3. Under Style, swipe to the one you want. Art gallery is the first page, Colour the second.
4. Under Place & Time, type the city.
5. Set Date & Time. The hour matters here, not only the day.
6. Wait for the preview at the top to fill in, then tap Add to Memory.

The preview is the real reading, not a sample. What you see before you tap is exactly the card you get.

Why an hour, and not a day?

A day holds twenty-four readings, and they are not the same weather. The hour you were standing in is the one worth keeping.

The two styles

Colour draws the temperature as a coloured disc, with the place under it and the condition in a small circle at the corner. Art gallery fills the whole card with a painting chosen for that weather.

The disc takes its colour from the temperature, not from the Memory. A card in the Memory’s own colour would look the same in July and in January, and tell you nothing.

What the colours mean

• Indigo: below −10°C, bitter.
• Blue: −10 to 0, freezing.
• Cyan: 0 to 8, cold.
• Teal: 8 to 14, chilly.
• Green: 14 to 18, cool.
• Lime: 18 to 21, mild.
• Yellow: 21 to 26, warm.
• Orange: 26 to 31, hot.
• Red: 31 and up.

The bands are cut on the reading in Celsius, so a card keeps its colour whichever unit you read it in.

The paintings

Art gallery draws on sixty-eight public-domain works: thirty-four kinds of weather, two paintings each. A clear morning can bring you Hokusai’s Fine Wind, Clear Morning; a cloudy one, a Constable cloud study from 1821.

Tap the ⓘ on the card and About this Painting opens with the work in full, who painted it and when, a short piece on why it exists, and two links: one to the museum or catalogue that holds it, one to its licence. The ⓘ is on Art gallery cards only.

A painting is fetched the first time you see it. Until it lands, the card draws in colour rather than as a spinner, because a Moment in your Memory should never be a loading state. Every time after that it is instant.

Celsius or Fahrenheit

Settings → Units → Unit, under Temperature. System follows your region; Metric and Imperial pin it. It changes how every weather card reads, including the ones you saved before.

If it won’t save

• “No weather was recorded there at that time.” The archive has a gap. Try another hour, or a nearby city.
• “You’re offline. Weather needs a connection the first time it’s saved.” Exactly that, and only the first time.
• “Weather isn’t available right now.” The service, not you. It’s worth another go in a minute.

The reading needs a connection once, when you save it. After that the card is yours offline and the number on it never moves again. Only an Art gallery painting still has to be fetched the first time you see it.
