What is the profile card?

It’s the card you hold up when the other person is standing right there. It carries your picture, your display name, your @username, a QR code, and a 16-digit number under it. Scan the QR or type the number and a friend request comes to you.

Where to find it

To design it: Settings → Your account, then the Your profile card banner. To show it to someone: Friends tab → + → the QR button → Show my card. The panel flips over and your card faces them.

There’s no way to save the card as a picture today. If the person isn’t in front of you, send them your invite link instead. “How do I add a friend?” shows where that is.

Designing it

The editor has four panels along the bottom.

• Shape: Default, Rounded, Angled or Rectangle.
• Decoration: Circles, Crossing, Dotted or Lined, drawn faintly behind everything else.
• Color: the background, the decoration and the QR code each take a colour of their own.
• Accessories: emoji you drop onto the card and drag where you want them. Drag one off the card to remove it.

Tap the tick at the top right to keep your changes, or the cross at the top left to leave them behind. Nobody sees this card unless you show it to them, so it can be as loud as you like.

The 16-digit number does exactly the same job as the QR. It’s there for the times a camera can’t help: bad light, a cracked screen, a code read out over the phone. It’s issued with your @username, so the line under the QR stays empty until you claim one.

Scanning someone else’s

Same place: Friends tab → + → the QR button. Point it at their card and the request goes as it reads. Point it at your own and Lumoria tells you: “Scan a friend’s card instead — this one is yours.” The iPhone’s own Camera app works too, because the QR is a normal web link.
