Why can’t I search Spotify inside Lumoria?
Because Spotify doesn’t let an app our size look through its catalogue. That is Spotify’s call to make, and it isn’t aimed at us, but it does mean there is no search field to give you. Pasting a link gets you to the same card.
What Spotify asks for
Full access to the catalogue is for apps with hundreds of thousands of people using them every month. Below that, an app is limited to a handful of named testers. There is no rung between the two, so it isn’t something Lumoria can grow into a step at a time.
What works instead
Everything where you bring the link. Copy a song, album or playlist in Spotify, paste it into the Memory, and Lumoria turns it into a card without asking Spotify for permission or learning anything about your account. “How do I add a song from Spotify?” walks through it.
Why Apple Music is different
Apple Music search is built into the iPhone itself, and Apple opens it to any app on its own platform. That is the whole reason one tile has a search field and the other doesn’t. It isn’t a judgement about the two services; it is what each one allows.
There is nothing to sign in to and nothing to connect. Lumoria never sees your Spotify account, your playlists, or what you listen to.
