Why couldn’t Lumoria read my ticket?
Because it couldn’t work out what kind of ticket it was looking at. That’s the one thing Lumoria has to get right before anything else: a flight and a concert ask for completely different fields, so without knowing which it is, there’s no right form to open. Rather than guess and hand you a form full of the wrong things, it stops and says so.
Try this first
- Crop to the ticket itself. A screenshot of a whole email gives it a lot of text that isn’t the ticket.
- Make sure the barcode is in the picture and in focus. It’s the single most useful thing on there.
- Watch the light. A photo of a screen usually beats a photo of paper under a lamp, because glare and shadow are what most failed reads have in common.
- If you have the original file, a PDF from the airline or a .pkpass from Wallet, share that instead of a picture of it.
Why the barcode matters
On a boarding pass, the barcode isn’t decoration. It holds the flight, the route, the date and your seat in a form that can be read exactly rather than interpreted. When Lumoria can see it clearly there’s nothing left to check. When it can’t, it falls back to reading the printed text, which is where mistakes come from.
If your iPhone can’t do the reading
Reading a picture needs Apple Intelligence. It isn’t available on every iPhone, and it may still be downloading. If that’s what’s happened, Lumoria says so rather than blaming your ticket. Everything else in the app works exactly as before.
You can always finish by hand
A read that fails never costs you the ticket. Choose Fill in a ticket myself and you get the ordinary form, with anything that was readable already in place and your picture kept alongside it. “How do I make my first ticket?” walks through the rest.
