Which notifications does Lumoria send?

Eight kinds, in four groups, all on one screen: the Settings tab, then Notifications. Each has a switch of its own, and every switch starts off. Lumoria sends nothing until you turn something on. None of it is marketing: each one is about a thing that has actually happened.

Invites & Memories

• Friend accepted your invite: someone joined Lumoria through your invite link.

Friends

• New friend requests: someone sent you one.
• Friend requests accepted: someone accepted the one you sent.

Memories

• On this day: a look back at a Memory you started a year ago today.
• Invitations to collaborate: someone invited you to a shared Memory.
• Someone joins a memory: someone accepted your invitation to one.
• Shared memory activity: someone added Moments to a Memory you share.

Updates

• New templates: new ticket designs have been added to the app.

Turning one on

1. Open the Settings tab and tap Notifications.
2. Turn on the ones you want.
3. The first time, iOS asks whether Lumoria may send you notifications. Say yes.

The eight switches are independent. Turning on New friend requests does nothing for On this day, and turning one off later leaves the rest alone.

When they arrive

Most arrive within moments. Shared memory activity is the exception, on purpose. Lumoria waits until the other person has stopped adding things, then sends one notification for the whole batch: “Alex added 4 moments to Lisbon” rather than four separate buzzes. That wait is about half an hour.

A switch that is off stops a notification reaching your phone. It doesn’t stop the notification existing. The item still lands in Lumoria’s own list, so you find it the next time you look.

Reading them again

Tap the bell at the top of the Memories tab. Everything Lumoria has sent you is kept there, grouped into Today, This week and Earlier. The number on the bell counts the unread ones. Swipe a row to remove it, or use the mark-all-read button at the top of the list.

A shared Memory can be quietened on its own, without touching any of these eight. “Can I mute a single Memory?” covers that. If the switches are on and you still hear nothing, “Why am I not getting notifications?” works through the causes in order.
